NASA MID-ATLANTIC
Road Racing
Race & Track Time | Points & Prizes | Racer Requirements | Car Requirements
NASA Mid-Atlantic holds road racing events at permanent road racing tracks throughout the East Coast. These races are only open to drivers with a competitive race license (see requirements below). Unlike the High Performance Driving Evens, these ARE wheel-to-wheel racing events.
Race & Track Time:
All NASA events (Hyperfests included) are "double"
race weekends so all race groups will have the following on each
day of the event (Saturday AND Sunday):
Practice (up to 35 min)
Qualifying (15 min)
Race (up to 35 min.)
Note: Times are approximate
Points, Prizes and Awards Ceremony:
Points will be awarded for both days of races.
Trophies and prizes (if applicable) will be awarded based upon the
winners of Saturday's races and be based upon official results.
Photos with the NASA Trophy Presenters occur ONLY on Saturday at
the Awards Party (beverages and food supplied). You may charge whatever
you can get for autographs.
Racer Requirements:
1) Competitive License
All Racers MUST
hold a current competition license from NASA. Drivers holding a
current road racing competition license from SCCA, FIA, PCA, BMWCCA,
MidWestern Council, EMRA MAY qualify for a NASA Provisional racing
license based upon experience levels and its issuance is at the
sole discretion of the NASA Mid Atlantic Regional Director. It is
highly recommended that any driver wishing to obtain a NASA Competition
License in this manner contact Regional Director Chris Cobetto at
804-883-7669 or by emailing a driving resume to chris@nasaracing.net
prior to registering for an event. While NASA-Mid Atlantic welcomes
all new racers, it is our duty to insure that ALL racers meet the
skill and experience standards necessary for competition within
the NASA system. Those drivers that do not contact the Regional
Director prior to the event in which they wish to participate should
not assume that a NASA provisional license will be granted at the
event.
In simple terms
if you show up at the track without checking before hand you may
find yourself having made a long tow for nothing. We, of course,
understand that this is an undesirable situation that we hope can
be avoided.
2) NASA Membership
All Racers MUST be members of the National Auto Sport Association
(See "How to Register" at bottom of this page)
Car Requirements:
All cars must be legal according to NASA Club Codes and
Regulations
(Annual Tech and NASA vehicle logbooks are required and
will be available during Friday night and Saturday morning tech)
You
may be able to have your annual tech done before coming to the track.
Check our Pre-Tech Site Page:
All cars must be legal according to the rules of the NASA
CCRs (pdf format) and their respective series. The NASA CCRs
and other series rules can be found under "RULES" at www.nasaproracing.com
Important Notes:
Registrations
accepted at the track will be subject to a $50 late registration
fee. Any non pre-registered racer arriving after 7:00am on Saturday
or Sunday of the event may be subject to a gate fee.
It is very strongly recommended that all racers arrive at the track before 7:00am on the Saturday of the event.
There is a mandatory All Hands Meeting that each driver must attend at 7:45am on Saturday and Sunday.
